I didn’t set out to build a blog — I set out to get lost. In the woods, on the road, sometimes just in my own head.

Northern River Adventures is a collection of lessons learned the hard way: boots that failed, storms that didn’t care about forecasts, trails that looked a lot shorter on the map. I’ve slept under trees, in trucks, in tents — sometimes comfortably, sometimes not. Every story taught me something.

This site isn’t about pretending to be an expert. I’m not sponsored, not certified, not trying to sell you a lifestyle. I’m just someone who’s spent enough time out there to know what matters when the sun drops fast or the trail disappears.

I write what I wish I’d read before that first overnight hike. I recommend gear because I’ve used it or trusted someone who has. I keep it short, straight, and real — so you can spend less time scrolling and more time doing.
